TO ALL DIGITAL IMAGING TECHNICIANS,
Your DIT role is pivotal to successful completion of every production. We are happy to continue to provide the flexibility to allow you to leave and complete stitching footage from your home or a different location with the following protocol in place and strictly adhered to.
DIT CLOCK OUT POLICY:
If you leave set to complete your work off-site, you MUST text your on-site producer when you completed your work. In an attempt to help make this process easier, MKGXR will begin providing a reminder Clock Out message via text.
Upon a repeat occurrence of not clocking out, the DIT can expect to receive the following disciplinary actions: an informal talk about the issue, followed by a formal verbal warning and write-up, then a suspension for 60 days, and finally termination if there are more than three violations in one year.
WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT:
We all know that cards and footage can get corrupted causing a partial or total reshoot. This, obviously, is detrimental to the successful completion of any production. To mitigate this liability, MKGXR maintains specific insurance that will cover the cost of reshooting footage that is corrupted during DIT shifts. When DITs don’t clock out, this insurance coverage can be VOIDED because time records indicate the DIT is working past OSHA standards requiring 8 hours between shifts. Insurance investigations would determine the DIT as fatigued and the insurance claim will be DENIED.
You can easily alleviate this issue by texting the On-site Producer IMMEDIATELY upon completion of stitching the footage.
